Ding

I'm Wenxiao Ding, an interaction designer, game designer, and creative technologist based in New York. With a background in interactive media, UI/UX design, and game development, I explore the intersection of storytelling, technology, and physical interaction.

I studied Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at NYU Tisch, where I delved into experimental media, motion sensing, and creative coding. Since graduating, I’ve worked across disciplines—from video production to real-time interactive installations—pushing the boundaries of how people engage with digital and physical spaces.

My work spans alt.ctrl games, immersive experiences, and interactive installations. My latest project was showcased at GDC, Fantastic Arcade etc. I have also presented work at GDS Europe in Prague, ITP Winter Show, and Hand Eye Society in Toronto, constantly iterating on new ways to bring unconventional storytelling to life.

Whether it’s code, hardware design, sensors, virtual reality, 3D printing, fabrication, machine learning, or big data, I no longer feel intimidated by a new challenge. Instead, I embrace emerging technologies as tools for designing playful, thought-provoking experiences. My work often revolves around reimagining ordinary objects in extraordinary contexts—like a trash can chasing its dream or a spy disguised as a rice cooker—blurring the lines between the absurd and the meaningful.

When I’m not creating, I’m either watching historical documentaries, analyzing MBTI personalities, or brainstorming ways to make interactive art even weirder.

Let’s connect and build something unexpected.v
